IPTV comes with a handful of its own terms that can be confusing at first. We've gathered the most important ones in one place, each with a short explanation — handy if you're just getting started.

M3U

Xtream Codes

EPG (Electronic Program Guide)

An on-screen guide showing what's currently airing and what's coming up over the next few hours.

Catch-up TV

A feature that lets you play back a programme that's already aired, without having recorded it in advance — usually up to 7 days back.

VOD (Video on Demand)

Content available on demand — movies and series you can watch any time, as opposed to live channels.

Anti-Freeze

Server-side technology designed to reduce picture freezing during live broadcasts, especially during peak hours.
